Particle board's main advantages are its low cost, lightweight nature, and smooth surface for finishes, making it great for budget furniture, cabinetry, and decorative panels. It's also eco-friendly (using wood waste), easy to cut/work with, and offers decent screw-holding (better than MDF), but it's crucial to remember it lacks moisture resistance and heavy load capacity.
